Volkswagen has officially unveiled the 2015 C Coupe GTE concept at the 2015 Shanghai Motor Show in China. The new German prototype is previewing an upcoming model that will be slotted between the Passat and the Phaeton. 

On the outside, the 2015 Volkswagen C Coupe GTE concept measures more than five meters and has a generous 3 meters wheelbase. 

Inside the cabin we see a lot of elements that can be found on the Passat, but the German designer have developed lots of new and interesting gadgets. First of all is a center console for the rear passengers. In addition, we see two individual displays mounted in the backrests of the front seats.

Under the hood, the 2015 Volkswagen C Coupe GTE concept has a hybrid powertrain. It consists of a 2.0 liter petrol unit and an electric motor. In total, the hybrid systems offers 245 horsepower and 500 Nm peak of torque. As a result, the run from stand still to 100 km/h is done in 8.5 seconds while the fuel consumption is clocked at 2.3 liters per 100 kilometers. In the electric mode, the 2015 Volkswagen C Coupe GTE concept can travel up to 50 kilometers.
