After Chevrolet Spark EV, we have another small car with zero emissions. The italians are preparing an eco friendly Fiat 500 at this year LA Motor Show. It is called 500e and it will have its premiere this weekend, on November 18, during the American Music Awards.

Then, the electric mini will be showcased to the general public for the first time at the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show.

This eco version is expected to have somewhere around 100 hp and over 200 Nm. The electric engine will be fed by a lithium-ion battery, rechargeable at every house socket in almost 8 hours.

To accommodate the changes operated under the hood, the Italian manufacturer decided to also use an aerodinamic package for lowering the drag coefficient. This is why we can see a different lower white front fascia, new wheels, aero underbody lip, lower side sills and possibly low-rolling tires in these first images of the car.

The car wont be a bargain, but even so Fiat will probably lose $10.000 for every unit. The new Fiat 500e will be available in the state of California in 2013.
