Mercedes-Benz has now combined the two innovative AIRCAP® and AIRSCARF® systems – which are also available separately – in the so-called Cabriolet Comfort package for a price of 1249.50 euros. The automatic AIRCAP® draught-stop system can be extended at the touch of a button and significantly reduces turbulence in the vehicle interior. AIRCAP® comprises two components: a draught deflector with net incorporated into the windscreen frame which can be extended by six centimetres, and a draught-stop between the rear seat head restraints. The AIRSCARF® neck-level heating system is built into the front seat backrests and blows warm air through openings in the head restraints. In the new E-Class Cabriolet, the outlet vents can be swivelled up and down by 36 degrees.
Thanks to its acoustic cabriolet soft top fitted as standard, when closed the E‑Class Cabriolet has one of the quietest interiors in the segment of four-seater premium cabriolets. The high-quality insulation in the soft top has a significantly noticeable effect on reducing sound levels in the vehicle interior compared with conventional soft tops.
In March 2009 Mercedes-Benz embarked on the renewal of the E-Class model family – one year later, with the market launch of the Cabriolet, the portfolio will be complete. More than 130,000 customers have opted for a model from the new series since its market launch. In 2009 the E-Class Saloon is leader in its segment worldwide.
