Skoda announced earlier this year that is preparing something big. The teaser confirmed the awaited launch of Skoda`s second SUV, a crossover positioned above the current Yeti. Everybody was expected to see the car in Geneva Motor Show, but Skoda shows no signs of a hurry. The Geneva Motor Show will serve only for showcasing the concept of the future SUV. Called Vision S (‘S’ stands for SUV), the concept will use the lines we already saw on the VisionC design study.

Larger than the Yeti model, VisionS has a length of 4,700mm and a width of 1,910mm and is 1,680mm high. The dimmensions are generous enough to accomodate seven passengers seated on three rows.

At the front the bonnet relies on the creative use of plastics, with contours flowing towards the brand logo. The wide grille and four tapered, high-set LED headlights characterise the face of the concept car. Crystalline elements in the vertical struts in the grille and on the logo are Skoda’s tribute to the Czech art of crystal-glass design.

The side view has sharp tornado line spanning the entire length of the car body. Angular wheel arches emphasise the off-road character and the upper-shoulder contour forms a deep groove over the sills. The quickly sloping roofline with the long spoiler and tapered rear complete the look.

The rear of the VisionS has a strong diffuser insert bordering the large exhaust pipes. The Skoda logo and shallow rear lights with dynamically cut crystalline housings sit just beneath the low rear window, while Skoda’s characteristic C-arm, beginning at the rear lights, runs into the flat reflectors in the bumper.
