The 3-door version Fiesta ST Concept was shown less than two months ago at the Frankfurt Motor Show, and now Ford is presenting new photos and details with a 5-door version scheduled to premiere in less than two weeks in LA.
Through this concept the North American automaker previews a future, production version, high-performance Fiesta which just the the 3-door variant, extracts power from a specially tuned 180 HP/177 lb-ft of torque, 1.6-litre EcoBoost engine.
Derrick Kuzak, Ford group vice
president said that "The Fiesta has a rich history of high-performance models so a new ST
performance model is a logical next step in our performance vehicle
strategy for our global small cars,"
The drivetrain remains unchanged also, as the Ford Fiesta ST 5-door Concept uses a 6-speed manual gearbox which directs all the power to the front, while the exterior maintains elements such as the trapezoidal grille with the honeycomb mesh design, the sporty rear diffuser which accommodates the twin exhaust pipes, plus the 17 inch wheels highlighted by the wider wheels arches and the lowered suspension.
