Toyota RAV4 EV Price

Toyota has pulled the wraps of the RAV4 EV at the 26th annual Electric Vehicle Symposium in Los Angeles.

This all-electric SUV which uses an electric driveline developed by Tesla Motors generates a combined 154 HP (115 kW) at 2,800 rpm from its electric motor and floor mounted batteries, and is capable of covering approximately 100 miles before having to recharge.

The RAV4 EV can be recharged in 6 hours on a 240V/40A charger, and the automaker claims that its batteries are warranted for 8 years of 100,000 miles.

This electric version RAV4 an be operated in two modes, Sport and Normal, with the Sport mode enabling a 0 to 60 mph sprint time of 7.0 seconds and a top speed of 100 mph, while in Normal model the car will go from 0 to 60 mph in 8.6 seconds and will attain a top speed of 85 mph.

On the outside the RAV4 EV distinguishes itself from the regular version thanks to the redesigned front bumper, upper grille, side mirrors and rear spoiler, and also through the different exterior badges.

At the interior the seats are covered with 'Neutron' fabric while the instrument panel has been adapted to the vehicle's electric drivetrain.

The Toyota RAV4 EV price starts at 49,800 USD, and the vehicle will go on sale in late summer 2012 through select dealers (initially in four major California metropolitan markets including Sacramento, San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles/Orange County and San Diego).
