Do you remember the Porsche Boxster E,the electric prototype which was supposed to help gather information asfar as the practicality of an electric roaster and the electric infrastructure in mid 2011? Well Porsche's plans are well on track, as the German automaker has recently revealed the performance figures and specs of the Boxster E after offering a demonstration with the car at theMichelin Challenge Bibendum in Berlin.

Out of the three prototypes Boxster E developed by Porsche, one is AWD and two are RWD. The AWD version uses two electric motors spinning the front and rear axles and producing a total of 241 HP (180 kW) and 540 Nm (398 lb-ft) oftorque at 12,000 rpm. These motors enable the AWD Boxster E to sprint from 0 to 62 mph (0 to 100 Km/h)  in 5.5 seconds and also reach a limited speed of 124 mph (200 km/h).

The FWD versions Porsche Boxster E are only powered by a single electric motor positioned on the rear axle, and in this case the power level reaches 121 HP (90 kW) and 270 Nm (199 lb-ft) of torque. Performance figures for the FWD Porsche Boxster E are still notable as accelerating from 0 to 62 mph (0 to 100 Km/h) takes 9.8 seconds, while the maximum speed that can be reached is93 mph (150 km/h).

The electric engines powering the Porsche Boxster E are backed by a 29 kWh lithium-iron-phosphate battery pack located where the combustion engine used to be, which weights 341 kg (752 lbs) and takes up to 9 hours to recharge. The Boxster E tips the scale at 1,600 Kg (3572 lbs) and features an Active Sound Design system which replaces the engine noise in order to make pedestrians aware of its presence on the road.
