Citroen will introduce a new concept, during this year Shanghai Motor Show, scheduled to take place during 21-29 April. The concept will be called DSX and will preview a future luxury SUV made by the French manufacturer.
 
To cut costs, the car will be based on the current DS5 platform, ensuring both efficient production and all wheel drive capabilities. A production version will arrive no sooner than 2014 on the Chinese market first. Europe will follow no later than the end of 2014.
 
Based on the same platform as the DS5, the new premium SUV will be 4.7 meters long and will be able to support even hybrid-diesel technology along the conventional gasoline and diesel engines. The eco version will feature the popular 2.0 HDi diesel engine, delivering 163 hp, and an electric motor, capable of 37 hp. The total amount of power will reach 200 hp, as the current DS5 Hybrid.
 
On the Chinese market, the SUV will be animated by a 1.6 liter THP engine, capable of delivering 243 hp.
 
The new DSX won`t be cheap. The French manufacturer intends to sell the DSX for at least 39.000 euro in Europe.
