The first generation Chevrolet Cruze was lunched in 2009 and represents a
model through which GM achieved impressive sales figures (more than 1
million exemplars sold across the globe).
Ir order to improve on its already successful recipe, GM is preparing a
facelift version Chevrolet Cruze which is expected to hit the market
this year, and which as this initial leaked images shows, will come with
only minor cosmetic changes.
The facelift version Chevrolet Cruze was uncovered by
Autoforum.cz and as you can see the changes that characterise the front
section include the new bumper and fog light surrounds with the LED
daytime running lights as well as the lower air intake plus the new
grille pattern.
The headlights on the 2012 Cruze facelift have
also been restyled, with the North American automaker deciding to opt in
for a slightly sharper looking aspect.
The visual changes
will be matched by a series of technical changes, with the main novelty
being the addition of a new diesel engine, more powerful than the one
found on the outgoing version. We’re talking about a 2.2-litre VCDI
unit that will produce 21 HP more than the current 2.0-litre engine
delivering 163 horses.
The 2012 Chevrolet Cruze facelift is
expected to debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March, and apart from the
sedan and hatchback body styles the car is also going to be offered as
an estate later this year.
