Audi may buy back 25,000 models equipped with the emissions-cheating 3.0-liter V6 TDI engine in the United States. The info comes from Automotive News who is citing a special report written in Der Spiegel. According to that report, the German car manufacturer won't be able to fix the problem and the only solution is to buy back the cars.

The first official details are rumored to come on November 3rd, the date which was scheduled for a court hearing. In the U.S. there are 85,000 vehicles equipped with the 3.0 TDI engine. As a result, VW Group is not able to fix about a third of them and this is no good news for the Germans.
