Mercedes-Benz unveiled today the 2014 C-Class. The new German model is not any more an entry-level sedan and the look, the features and the engines are coming to prove that to us.

The 2014 Mercedes-Benz C-Class has grown in size. It is 95 millimeters longer and 40 mm wider than its predecessor. It height stands at 1.442 millimeters, while the wheelbase has been increased by 80 mm. Furthermore, the cargo capacity has been grown and now measures 480 liters.

The 2014 Mercedes-Benz C-Class is featuring an S-Class face with some CLA and E-Class style. The German model features a long hood, shorter overhangs and more flowing lines. Overall, the fourth generation of C-Class is modern and will attract additional younger buyers.

Inside the cabin, everything is premium and luxurious. The three circular air vents, the premium materials, and the all-new 7 or 8.4 inch display are only a few newbie added by Mercedes in the new C-Class. The infotainment functions can be controlled via a rotary controller which now it’s offered in standard.

As many of you may already read, the 2014 Mercedes-Benz C-Class rides on the modular MRA rear-wheel drive platform. It is 100 kilograms lighter and thanks to this diet, the fuel consumption has been reduced by 20 percent.

Furthermore, the 2014 Mercedes-Benz C-Class will be the first model in its class to be offered with air suspension. Dubbed AIRMATIC, the new suspension is electronically controlled on both axles. It also features three modes: comfort, comfort with sportier character and a sports suspension.

For now, the 2014 Mercedes-Benz C-Class will be offered with three different engines. The first one is a diesel and will be seen on the C220 BlueTEC. It has 2.2 liters, 4 cylinders and can offer 170 horsepower and 400 Nm peak of torque. Under these conditions, the C-Class can sprint from stand still to 100 km/h in 8.1 seconds, while the fuel consumption is clocked at 4 liters per 100 kilometers.

The second engine will be found on the C180. We are talking about a 1.6 petrol engine which can offer 156 horsepower and 250 Nm peak of torque. The sprint from not to 100 km/h is done in 8.2 seconds and the fuel consumption is rated at 5 liters/100 km.

Last, but not least is the C200. It features a 2.0 liter 184 HP and 300 Nm engine. It can guarantee a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.5 seconds and a fuel consumption of 5.3 liters per 100 kilometers.

Later, the 2014 Mercedes-Benz C-Class will be offered with 1.6 liter diesel engine available with 115 HP or 136 HP and with a 2.2 liter diesel unit available with 115 HP, 204 HP and 170 HP in the BlueEFFICIENCY Edition.

The same engine will be used on a C300 BlueTEC HYBRID. It will also feature a 27 HP electric engine for a fuel consumption of just 3.9 liters per 100 km.

All engines are available with the new 6 speed manual gearbox or with the 7G-TRONIC PLUS seven speed automatic transmission. In Germany, the model can already be ordered. The C220 BlueTEC is priced at 38.675 Euros, the C180 cost 33.558 Euros while the C200 has a price tag of 36.414 Euros.
