At this year Paris Motor Show, Mercedes-Benz will present the newest addition to its family of electric vehicles: B-Class Electric Drive Concept. Headed for production in 2014, the new electric MPV is one of the first to receive the “Electric Drive” designation, which from now on will adorn all electric passenger cars from Mercedes-Benz and Smart.
The B-Class Electric Drive offers the same amount of space inside as the more conventional versions, as it benefits from the so called "Energy Space" in the floor of the vehicle in front of the rear axle.
The electric B-Class is powered by a 100 kW (134HP) electric motor which develops 310 Nm. The battery can be charged at any standard domestic 230 V power outlet and the range is estimated at 200 kilometers, good for everyday travel.
The car’s market launch on the market is planned for 2014.
