2013 Audi A6 Allroad - Photos and Details

The third generation Audi A6 Allroad has been revealed by the German automaker. This new model is based on the 2012 A6 Avant and just like the previous versions, the car retains that go anywhere do anything feel, or as Audi said it, the new Allroad is universally talented.

The Audi A6 Allroad measurements are 4.94 m (16.21 ft) in length, 1.90 m (6.23 ft) in width and 1,47 m (4.82 ft) in height, meaning it is a few mm bigger than the Avant and with a 60mm (2.35 in) higher ground clearance.

The car weights around 70 Kg (154 lb) less than the previous model and will give buyers a choice of four engines. One is the 3.6-litre V6 TFSI petrol rated at 310 HP and 440 NM (325 lb-ft) of torque while the other three are 3.0-litre V6 TDIs capable of producing either 204 HP, 245 HP or 313 HP in the twin-turbocharged version.

The petrol version 2013 Audi A6 Allroad will sprint from 0 to 100 Km/h (0 to 62 mph) in 5.9 seconds, will reach a top speed of 250 Km/h (155 mph) and will require 8.9-litres of fuel per 100 Km.

The most powerful TDI on the other hand, which by the way comes with an eight-speed automatic gearbox (the rest of the engines are paired with a seven speed dual clutch), will dismiss the 0 to 100 Km/h acceleration in 5.6 seconds and will also hit a limited top speed of 250 Km/h (155 mph).  

Apart from its slightly different dimensions, the 2013 Audi A6 Allroad is also distinguished from the regular wagon variant through the the restyled bumpers and the bigger wheel arches as well as the stainless steel covers at the rear and on the sides, the new exhaust pipes and the new roof rails.   

A set of 18 inch alloy wheels featuring five double spokes are also part of the deal, with 19 and 20 inch sizes being optionally available.

The new A6 Allroad rides on an adaptive air suspension which can lower the car at high speeds (by 15 mm / 0.59 in) or raise it by 35 mm (1.38 in) at the press of a button.

The 2013 Audi A6 Allroad price starts at 54,600 Euro for the 204HP TDI, and sales across Europe are scheduled to begin in Spring.
