Kia is known to manufacturer excellent rides. Their vehicles are not only stylish, but economical and reliable as well. One of the most popular vehicles by Kia is the Kia Soul. It has been a popular choice ever since it was launched. This wagon recently underwent significant changes in terms of design and functions. The all new Kia Soul does not only look better than ever, but also boasts a powerful engine and excellent gas mileage. Let’s look at what Kia is offering in the 2015 Soul:

Engine Specifications

The 2015 Kia Soul may be a small wagon, but it boats a powerful engine. In fact, there are two engine variants across the three trims. The first engine variant is focused more on providing fuel economy and a fair amount of power. However, the second engine variant generates more power, yet still offers a good gas mileage.

The baseline engine is inline with four cylinders. The capacity of this engine is 1.6 liters. This engine may seem small but it generates significant power. The second engine variant is also an inline-4. However, the capacity of this engine is 2 liters. There is no doubt that this engine generates a substantial amount of power.

Performance Rating

Even though both the engine variants of the 2015 Kia Soul do not appear powerful, they do generate quite a bit of horsepower. The 1.6-liter engine variant is rated to produce an incredible 130 ponies. The torque that this engine produces is 118 pounds per feet. When it comes to gas mileage, this engine does not disappoint. Within city limits, you can get as much as 24 miles to every gallon. But if you are driving on the highway, you should expect nothing less than 30 miles per gallon.

The second engine variant, which is 2 liters in capacity, produces significantly more power. The horsepower rating for this engine is 164 ponies. In addition, it generates 151 pounds per feet of torque. A common misconception is that a larger engine cannot provide good gas mileage. But when it comes to the 2015 Kia Soul, this engine provides almost the same gas mileage as the 1.6-liter variant. In the city, you can get 23 miles per gallon, but highway driving can give you as much as 31 miles to a gallon.

Transmission Options

There are two transmission options in the 2015 Kia Soul. The first transmission is a 6-speed manual. The best thing about the Soul is that you get the option of selecting the manual transmission over the auto. If you want driving comfort, you can go for the 6-speed auto. This transmission is equipped with active eco technology. Moreover, it provides Sportsmatic shifting technology, which makes it a pleasure to drive.

Interior Styling

The 2015 Kia Soul appears to be a small ride. But the interior is surprisingly spacious. The best thing about the interior of this car is the legroom. Not only will you get sufficient legroom in the front seats, but the rear passengers will also sit comfortably. Also, the seats are designed to be comfortable. The steering wheel boasts controls for volume adjustment and even answering calls.

Exterior Design

The exterior design of the 2015 Kia Soul has been significantly changed since the previous models. The design of the headlamps, combined with a sharp rear-end appearance gives the car a whole new look. In fact, the 2015 Kia Soul looks better than any Soul ever made.

All in all, the 2015 Kia Soul is an excellent family car. It can seat up to 5 passengers comfortably which is rare for a car of its stature.
