Toyota has been known to manufacture quality vehicles. One of the best creations of Toyota was its pickup truck line, called Tundra. This pickup truck took the market by storm with its innovative features and powerful engine. The 2014 Toyota Tundra is more impressive than the previous ones. Let’s see what Toyota added to the new Tundra:

Engine Specifications

The 2014 Tundra is a pickup truck designed for multiple uses. It can be used for carrying heavy loads and off-roading. This spectacular pickup truck is available in quite a few variants. The engine, on the other hand, is available in three variants. According to the different specifications that are offered with each truck, the engines are available in a base model, mid-range model and a top-line model. Let’s look at the three variants in detail:

  1. Base Model: The base model engine of the 2014 Tundra has a V-type engine. The engine features 6-cylinders and the displacement of this base model engine is 4.0 liters. This engine may be a base model but it generates immense power. It is rated at 270-horsepower and 278 pounds of torque. For a base model engine, it is quite massive.
  2. Mid-Range Model: The mid-range model carries a bigger V-type engine and has 8 cylinders to generate more power. The displacement of this engine variant is 4.6 liters and generates significantly more power than the base model. This massive midrange engine generates a staggering 310 horsepower and 327 pounds of torque. The base model and the mid-range model engines are quite powerful. However, the top-line model is in a different league.
  3. Top-Line Model: The 2014 Tundra has packed quite a punch in their top-line engine model. The engine is a V-type and has 8 cylinders. This engine has a displacement of 5.7 liters. This powerful engine is rated at 381 horses and generates 401 pounds of torque.

Interior Design

The cabin of the 2014 Tundra is also available in two variants. There is a regular cabin which seats a maximum of two people. There is a larger version of the Tundra as well. This has the capacity to seat five passengers. This is commonly referred to as the double cabin. Regardless of the capacity or variant of the Tundra’s interior, it is elegant. Moreover, the interior is spacious. This is why the 2014 Tundra is ideal for multiple uses.

It can be used as an off-road vehicle, for carrying heavy loads and also serves as a great vehicle for a small family. Another spectacular feature of the interior is that the console is not overcrowded with buttons.  The seats are made of soft leather and so is the rest of the interior trim. The rear seats fold upwards which increases the cabin space.

Transmission

The three engine variants are each equipped with a different transmission. The base model V-6 engine is equipped with a five-speed automatic transmission. On the other hand, the mid-range and the top-line V-8 engines feature a six-speed auto transmission.

Exterior Design

The Tundra has always had superior styling when it comes to the exterior. The pickup truck looks massive at first glance and is ideal for people who swear by the term “bigger is better”. The 2014 Tundra’s front end features an elegant yet beastly look. Just by looking at the 2014 Tundra one can tell that there is a big surprise under the hood. The bed offers plenty of space for hauling a fair amount of cargo. The 2014 Tundra even has a trailer hitch for towing.

All in all the 2014 Tundra is a great pickup truck with loads of power. It will surely not disappoint people who like powerful pickup trucks.
