Jeep is a renowned manufacturer of SUV’s and off-road vehicles. The latest addition to their fleet is the 2014 Jeep Patriot. The innovative features and gas mileage of the Jeep has helped it gained immense popularity. Let’s look at what the 2014 Jeep Patriot has to offer.

Engine Specifications

Being a small size SUV, the 2014 Jeep Patriot’s engines focus on providing the user power and economy. The engines in this crossover vehicle are not only economical, but they also provide substantial amount of power. The best part is that there are two engine variants. One is slightly less powerful than the other.

However, there are a total of 5 trims available for the vehicle. The first engine variant is an inline type with four cylinders. The capacity of this engine is 2 liters. If this engine is not powerful enough for you, you can opt for the second variant. This variant is also an inline type with four cylinders. However, the capacity of this engine is higher. This engine is 2.4 liters in capacity and of course emits more power.

Performance Rating

One of the best features of the engines included in the 2014 Jeep Patriot is the gas mileage. This small SUV is extremely economical when it comes to gas consumption. If you are driving within the city, the 2-liter engine will give you about 22 miles to a gallon. On the other hand, if you are driving on the highway, you can expect to get as much as 27 miles to a gallon. Not only that, but this engine produces a whooping 158 horses and 141 pounds of torque. This is immense power for a crossover vehicle such as the 2014 Jeep Patriot. If you think this engine is powerful, then the 2.4-liter variant is sure to amaze you.

Even though this engine is bigger than the other one, it provides a similar gas mileage. Within the city, you can get 21 miles to a gallon and on the highway you can get up to 27 miles. However, this engine produces much more power. This engine is rated to produce 165 ponies and 172 pounds of torque.

Transmission Specifications

The transmission of the 2014 Jeep Patriot is 6-speed. This transmission is known as an electronic automatic. The transmission is equipped with overdrive as well. However, the best aspect of the Jeep’s transmission is the Autostick SSC (Sequential Shift Control). There are only two drivetrain options in this vehicle. However, considering the other features that are offered, the drivetrain is quite reasonable. One drivetrain is a front wheel drive, and the other is a four-wheel.

Interior Styling

The cargo space in the 2014 Jeep Patriot is unbelievable. In addition to the extensive cargo space, you can easily seat 5 passengers in the vehicle. The seats of the 2014 Jeep Patriot are quite large and rather comfortable. In addition, the legroom is also great. You won’t have a problem sitting in the rear seat, even if the front seat is reclined all the way back.

Exterior Design

The exterior design of the 2014 Jeep Patriot is quite unconventional. It is perhaps one of the few Jeep vehicles that retain the circular headlamp design. Unfortunately, not much has changed in terms of design as compared to the previous model. But then again, this crossover vehicle is definitely worth buying and a pleasure to drive.
