The Ram is a series of full-sized pickup trucks manufactured by Chrysler. In 2013, the company completely remodeled the look of the Ram. Undoubtedly, the Ram is one of the most loved pick-up trucks across the United States. The company recently revealed the 2014 Ram 1500. Pickup lovers are waiting for the truck to hit the market with baited breath.

The latest Dodge Ram 1500 has been named the Truck of Texas along with being awarded prizes for having the best powertrain as well as various other awards. Trucks are popular in Texas and quite expectedly, the people are excited about the 2014 Ram 1500. There is no surprise that the 2014 Dodge Ram 1500 has gained immense popularity right after its revelation. Chrysler has added some amazing features that make the pickup worth waiting for.

Specifications

Dodge Rams are particularly famous for monstrous V-8s under the hood. However, the company has shifted from their traditional engines. The Ram 1500 has a new engine which is the first of its kind for heavy duty pickup trucks. The 2014 Ram 1500 will have an environment-friendly diesel engine. The EcoDiesel V-type engine has a 3.0-litre capacity with six cylinders.

Though this may cause some customers to feel a tad apprehensive, the engine hasn’t lost any power despite being smaller and eco-friendly. In fact, the 2014 Ram 1500 delivers the same amount of power as the previous trucks in the series. The new EcoDiesel V-6 engine packs 420 pounds of torque at 2000 RPM. In addition, the truck has a whopping eight-speed automatic transmission. The engine of the Ram 1500 is turbocharged. The turbocharger in the Ram 1500 is also quite different. It features a variable turbocharger which eliminates turbo lag at low speeds.

The reason the 3-litre V-6 engine is able to deliver immense power is because it is lighter than conventional diesel engines. The EcoDiesel weighs only 50lbs more than the V-8 Hemi engines used in Rams. The lightweight engine combined with the variable turbocharger and the eight-speed transmission make the 2014 Ram 1500 a powerful vehicle. Furthermore, the 2014 Dodge Ram 1500 can tow up to 9200lbs. One could not ask for more from the Ram 1500 in terms of power and performance.

Design

Chrysler stuck to the traditional and much loved buff exterior look for the 2014 Ram 1500. However, a number of things have been tweaked to give it a fresh look. The grill is taller, and the company has added new fog lamps and headlamps. The changes to the design don’t impede the appearance of the trucks in any way whatsoever.

Comfort

The 2014 Ram 1500 is not just a pickup truck, but it’s a great off-road vehicle and delivers utmost comfort for urban driving. This makes it an exception among other pickup trucks on the market. You shouldn’t have any qualms of using the pickup truck for running your errands or driving to places you have to be.

All in all, the new Ram 1500 is environment-friendly and a beast under the hood. This pickup truck fulfills the need for an eco-friendly line of trucks.
