One of the best cars manufactured by Dodge is the Charger. Dodge has taken the Charger up a notch with the 2014 model. With top of the line features and utmost reliability, it is a great car, no doubt. One of the best aspects of the new Charger is the fact that it can be used as a family sedan. However, considering the power it emits, you can take it for a spin on the track once in a while.

The 2014 Dodge Charger retains much of the styling from the previous model. However, the company has made some changes under the hood. Moreover, the Charger is known to be one of the most spacious modern muscle cars. Let’s look at what the company is offering in the all new 2014 Dodge Charger:

Engine Specifications

The 2014 Dodge Charger is available in three engine variants. The first is an economical 3.6-liter V-8. This engine is known to provide great gas mileage. The horsepower rating is quite significant. If you want to have the pleasure of owning a Charger and not have to go all in on the fuel cost, this is the one for you. The next is a zippy V-8 with a capacity of 5.7 liters.

This engine is radically faster than the 3.6-liter but gulps down more gas. However, it is bound to give you an adrenaline rush on the track. However, these engines may seem puny to muscle car enthusiasts. They are used to the massive V-8 engines that really pack a punch. If you like to have an awful lot of power at your disposal, then the 6.4-liter variant should work for you.

Performance

Even though the 3.6-liter engine is smaller in comparison to the other massive V-8s in the Charger lineup, it surely is powerful. The 3.6-liter engine is rated to produce a whooping 292 ponies and 260 pounds of torque. Moreover, it delivers 18 miles to a gallon in the city and 27 miles on the highway. The 5.7-liter engine is slightly aggressive and generates 370 horses and 395 pound of torque.

However, this engine can’t be considered a gas gulper. It provides 15 miles to a gallon in the city and 23 on the highway. The most aggressive engine in the Charger lineup is the massive 6.4-liter V-8. It puts out an incredible 470-horsepower and 470 pounds of torque. Surprisingly, the gas mileage is not much different than that of the 5.7-liter. It gives 14 miles in the city and 23 on the highway.

Transmission Specifications

The transmission is standard across all variants which is a 5-speed automatic. There are two options in terms of drivetrain. You can opt for an all-wheel drive which will give you better handling or you can go for the nippier rear-wheel drive. The rear–wheel drive will give you a greater feel of the steering wheel and you’ll have to work harder to control it.

Interior Styling

The interior of the 2014 Dodge Charger is surprisingly spacious for a car of its size and price range. It looks much like the interior of most luxury sedans. This makes the 2014 Dodge Charger an ideal option for a family as well.

Exterior Design

The exterior design of the 2014 Dodge Charger is quite similar to the previous models. There are a few changes here and there, but they are not significant. This is because enthusiasts prefer their muscle cars to be innovative on the inside while retaining a classic exterior.
