The gas-powered smart fortwo convertible returns for the 2017 model year. Available in Passion, Prime, Proxy, and Pure trims, the small vehicle with its removable roof bars and power top is powered by an 89-hp turbocharged 1.0-liter 3-cylinder engine. The powerplant drives the rear wheels and is mated to either a 5-speed manual or a twinamic 6-speed dual-clutch transmission. All trims feature alloy wheels, heated power side mirrors, Bluetooth connectivity, a multifunction steering wheel and anti-theft system. The Prime adds a leather-wrapped steering wheel, cornering foglamps, Lighting Package, black leather upholstery and heated seats. The Proxy adds a JBL® sound system, a Sport Package with 16-inch wheels, lowered suspension, shift paddles, chrome exhaust tip, and a blue/white interior. The fabric soft top is available in black or red. All trims are available with a Brabus Sport Package (when equipped with the twinamic transmission), removable wind deflector, and a center armrest.
