The Chevrolet Volt will return for 2017 for the most part unchanged after its 2016 redesign. An adaptive cruise control system offered on the Premier trim, forward collision warning, with blind-spot warning, low-speed automatic braking, rear cross traffic alert, intelligent high beams and lane-keep assist. The redesigned Volt featured multiple engineering enhancements, benefiting from improved driving range and acceleration. The 2016 upgrades included a stronger, more efficient and quieter 2-motor drive unit, increased 18.4 kWh battery capacity and a new MyLink system with an 8-inch touchscreen and Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility. The Volt’s body structure was lightened and strengthened throughout, flexible and programmable GPS location-based charging capability was introduced, controls were upgraded, an improved braking system was implemented, charge status indicators were improved, and the 120V portable cord set was made more convenient and simplified.
