New 2018 Chevrolet Malibu Overview
The Chevrolet Malibu returns for 2018 with few changes. Updates include an increased fuel capacity from 13 to 15.8 gallons on the 1.5-liter-equipped LS, L, and LT trims. An available Redline Package for the LT includes black Chevrolet bowtie badging, black badging with red outlines, 19-inch black wheels with red accents, a black grille, and black side mirror trim. Sandy Ridge Metallic is a new exterior color. The Malibu returns in L, LS, LT and Premier trims, along with a hybrid version. A 1.5-liter Ecotec 4-cylinder turbocharged engine with 184 lb.-ft. of torque and 160 hp, mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission powers the lower end trims. The Premier gets a 2.0-liter Ecotec turbo with 260 lb.-ft. of torque and 250 hp, mated to a 9-speed automatic. The hybrid version combines a 1.8-liter Ecotec with 122 hp and a dual-motor electric drive unit with 60 hp and 1.5 kWh, producing 277 lb.-ft. of torque combined.
