VW has also published a set of videos with the Volkswagen XL1 Concept which will be seen in the flesh at this year’s Qatar Motor Show between 26 – 29 January.
The Volkswagen XL1 represents an evolution of the 1-litre car first presented in 2002 and the L1 showed in 2009, with this latest prototype being to most efficient, as it needs less than 1-litre of feul, 0.9-litres to be exact, to cover 100 Kilometers.
CO2 emissions are also as eco-friendly as possible, at 24 g/Km, all this thanks to a hybrid powering system composed from a 2-cylinder TDI engine and a electric motor backed by a lithium-ion battery pack. The Volkswagen XL1 generates a combined output of 75 PS (55 kW) which get sent to the wheels via a seven-speed dual clutch DSG transmission.
