The Vauxhall Skate is a free invite-only event that will take place at a secret East London Location where a selected group of musical, design and style talents will entertain the guests. Among the treats offered are the Vauxhall Corsa roller boots and an in-car pit stop hair saloon where a well known hairdresser will offer free styling.

With Carl Barat, Remi Nicole, Alfie Allen & Smash and Grab’s very own DJ duo Queens of Noize providing the soundtrack of the evening and none other than ‘Shoreditch’s ringmaster’ Jonny Woo hosting a car-aoke – complete with dress-up props galore – time to get your skates on to bag yourself the hottest ticket in town.

Vauxhall Motors has teamed up with a hand-picked selection of the hottest musical, design and style talents of the moment to drive some serious excitement into London’s Shoreditch. Journeying through space and time, guests will be transported to a road that belongs to a late 20th Century vision of the future, 70’s disco meets Knight Rider on roller skates. Extra treats include specially commissioned Vauxhall Corsa roller boots and an in-car pit-stop hair salon with free styling from a huge name in celebrity hairdressing.

Sophie Ellis Bextor
Sophie is best known for her famous 2001 hit single ’Murder On The Dancefloor’. She’s enjoyed media success all around the globe, with massive successes in countries including Australia, Austria, Brazil, Belgium, Canada, Finland, France, the Netherlands, Norway, Italy, Sweden, Switzerland, Denmark and Chile. Other accolades include a nomination for Best British Female at the Brits, singing a reverent rendition of Blondie’s ‘One Way Or Another’ on the soundtrack to The Guru, a hard-hitting anti-fur campaign with PETA as well as numerous modeling contracts, including her recent campaigns for Rimmel.

Richard Jones
Richard Jones is bassist with British band The Feeling. The Feeling are a five-piece Brit award-nominated British band from Sussex and London.  The Feeling have played more than 200 shows and sold over a million copies of their critically-acclaimed debut album, ‘Twelve Stops And Home’. Their four biggest hit singles are ‘Sewn’, ‘Fill My Little World’, ‘Never Be Lonely’ and ‘Love It When You Call’, helping the band to become a well respected household name.
Remi Nicole
Remi Nicole is a singer-songwriter and musician from London whose mastery of numerous styles, from Doo wop to Rockabilly, girl-group pop to soulful rock, is making her a real success on the London music scene.  Nicole signed her first record deal in late 2006 with Island Records, and released her first single ‘Fed Up’ in May 2007. Her style is described as Indie and Acoustic and she’s currently in the process of recording her highly anticipated second album.
Alfie Allen
Alfie is a hugely talented young actor, already hotly tipped as ‘One to Watch’ following his performance in the Peter Shaffer play, Equus.
Alfie also appeared in the acclaimed feature film Atonement, starring Keira Knightley and James McAvoy. Other film credits include The Other Boleyn Girl (Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johannson) and Flashbacks of a Fool with Daniel Craig. Like the rest of the family Alfie also has a musical side and likes to get on the decks.
Queens of Noize
DJ queens of the Indie scene, Tabitha Denholm and Mairead Nash have had a shows on both 6 Music and MTV2, as well as running their own extremely successful weekly club night; Smash n Grab. The girls will also be playing at Glastonbury and other festivals throughout the summer.
The Queens have recently added talent management and art direction to their endless list of skills, managing the Brit Award winning act Florence and The Machine as well as designing all of her artwork and stage shows.
Florence (Florence and the Machine)
One to watch, Florence Welch of Florence and the Machine this year picked up a Brit award in the Critics’ Choice section and came third in the BBC’s Sound of 2009 poll, voted for by a select group of insiders from all sectors of the music industry. With her own kooky and unique style Florence is hailed as the latest music hit sensation and is one of the most anticipated performers on this year’s festival circuit. Her much awaited debut album “Lungs” is released this summer.
Carl Barat
Carl Barat is the former front man of Dirty Pretty Things and perhaps more infamously of The Libertines with Pete Doherty. He enjoyed a successful DJ tour in 2008 across Europe and is keen to repeat his successes in-between working on various projects both solo and with other high profile musicians.
Kate Moross
Kate is a successful designer and illustrator based in London. Her high profile career achievements include a nationwide billboard campaign for Cadburys, a signature clothing range for Topshop and designing a field at this year’s Glastonbury.
In 2007 she was selected by Creative Review for a Creative Future award and was named number 18 in last year’s NME’s ‘Future 50’ issue, highlighting key innovators driving music forward.
Kate is passionate about music and owns and runs a Vinyl only record label called Isomorph Records, set up in order to explore the relationship between design and music. She’s worked with Mark Ronson, The Klaxons, Merok Records and Simian Mobile Disco to name but a few.
Jonny Woo
Jonny Woo has been hailed as the ‘Queen of London’s alternative drag scene’ and an icon of London’s East End gay scene. Jonny made a name for himself hosting popular alternative performance nights. Vivacious and always over the top, Jonny loves an audience and is the ultimate addition to any party.
