Mazda has officially unveiled the all-new 2024 Mazda CX-90. The new SUV will be available starting this year and, as you would expect, it is built on the same Kodo Soul of Motion design philosophy.

Under the new looks is the same architecture as the one used in Europe for the CX-60. As a result, we speak about a rear-wheel drive biased system. But don’t worry, the CX-90 – at least for now – will be available only with 4WD.

According to Mazda, the new SUV will be available with a 3.3 liter petrol unit with six cylinders in line which is able to deliver 340 horsepower. As a result, this is the most powerful mass produced Mazda so far. The second engine option is a plug-in hybrid variant with a 2.5 liter petrol unit and an electric motor. In total, the PHEV system deliver 327 horsepower.

The battery has around 18 kWh. We don’t have an official number for the electric range, but in Europe, the same PHEV system is used in the CX-60. In that case, the car can travel on electricity alone around 39 miles.

The new CX-90 will be avilable with seven or eight seats and will have a cabin full of high grade materials.
