Ford has big plans for the Mustang fans. And not only for them. The Blue Oval officials have published a teaser picture with the upcoming Mustang GT3 racing car.

“Mustang was born to race from the start and we’re thrilled to introduce the GT3 version to compete head-to-head against some of the greatest manufacturers in the world. With 58 years of global endurance racing heritage, including NASCAR and Australian Supercars today, we are ready to take Mustang to the next level of global performance”, said Ford Performance Motorsports Global Director Mark Rushbrook.

The car will debut sometimes this year, and the first races are scheduled for the next season.

In order to develop the new GT3 model, Ford has teamed-up with the Ford Pereformance arm. In the same boat will be Multimatic and M-Sport.

In order to achieve homologation, Ford will have build 20 cars withing the first two years for customer race teams.
