Ferrari FXX fastest lap time on Top Gear’s track
After a series of funny trailer videos announcing the 13th season, and the unmasking of the Stig as Michael Schumacher, another epic moment during Top Gear’s show on Sunday involved ex Formula 1 driver and World Champion taking he’s Ferrari FXX for a spin on Top Gear’s tack. The results were amazing as Michael Schumacher managed to beat the fastest Top Gear lap time previously achieved in a Gumpert Apollo, by 6.4 seconds. Powering Michael Schumacher’s one of a kind Ferrari FXX matte black is a 6.3-litre V12 powerplant able to develop 790 horsepower at 8500 rpm linked to a F1 style six-speed sequential gearbox that can change gears in no more the 80 milliseconds. Volvo 445 light-loader turns 60
Volvo announced that the company’s 445 light-loader, the model that marks the production of estate cars for the Swedish automaker, now turns 60. Back then the Volvo 445 light-loader was powered by a small 1.4 litre OHV engine that generated 40 hp and seemed to be enough to get you through the city traffic.
The first Volvo 445 light-loader customer was the company’s president Assar Gabrielsson who had he’s vehicle delivered on the 4th of July 1953, and through time there were 4,035 units manufactured. Due to its design that was dating back to the 1940s, production for the Volvo 445 light-loader ended in 1969 when a new crash test legislation took effect in Sweden. The company has to export all their 455 light-loaders, keeping just one with a dark blue body paint…
Top Gear officially unmasks Stig
During their 13th season debut show, the guys from Top Gear reveal Stig’s identity and even though the news is all over the media by now we still won’t tell you who he is and let you watch the video. Of course it might be just another publicity stunt from the BBC crew, or he might be just one of the guys that get to wear the white suite, as BBC mentioned in the past that there a multiple drivers used during the test driving sessions, but if he truly is the mystery man then Top Gear couldn’t have chosen a better man for the job. 2010 Mercedes G Class new features
The German automaker continues to improve its hallmark SUV model, and today they introduced another 2010 Mercedes G Class edition with a new set of features. FOTA preparing F1 Championship alternative
The Formula One Team Association – FOTA has announced that they are preparing a new Championship as an alternative to FIA’s F1 series in which teams can participate. The new Championship would have a transparent governance and a single set of rules and regulations that will support new team entries and will also listen to fans. Volkswagen Touran R Line
As with most of the company’s models, the Volkswagen Touran has also received the R-Line package making the family carrier a bit more stylish thanks to a series of discrete elements.
