1 Million USD fine for SLS AMG driving at 180 mph in Switzerland
Sports cars are meant to be driven fast right ? Wrong…well unless you’re on a track. A 37 year old Swedish guy, owner of a fine Mercedes SLS AMG was not on a track, in fact he was on a public road in Switzerland when the Police caught him doing 180 mph (290 Km/h) in a 74 mph (120 Km/h) zone.
No big deal right? the guy owns a Mercedes SLS AMG after all, he could easily pay the fine and loose some points off his driver’s licence. Well wrong again…the Swiss Police not only confiscated his Gullwinged SLS AMG but also fined him with 1 million USD.

The tuners at Sport-Wheels have taken the Audi R8 Spyder to new heights in terms of engine power as well as appearance.
In fact the Sport-Wheels Audi R8 Spyder is available with two power packages that will increase power to 565 HP and 560 Nm of torque or 600 HP and 580 Nm of torque. We remind you that the standard Audi R8 Spyder produces 525 HP and 530 Nm so if you’re looking for extra performance then the Level 1 pack which consists of a remapped ECU, costs 1,499 Euro while the Level 2 which adds an ironman muffler is priced at 5,869 Euro.
speedART Porsche Cayenne S Hybrid
The tuners at speedART present their latest upgrade program for the Porsche Cayenne S Hybrid which is named the speedHYBRID.
Starting with the engine the V6 unit powering the speedART Porsche Cayenne S Hybrid has received an extra 70 HP which means total system output (including the electric motor) raised to 450 HP and 570 Nm of torque. This boost enables the speedART Porsche Cayenne S Hybrid to hit 100 Km/h from a standstill in 6.0-seconds flat instead of 6.5 seconds and the maximum speed that can be reached is now 252 Km/h, 10 Km/h more than the regular version.
BBR Ford Focus RS
BBR is launching four power upgrades for the Ford Focus RS MK2 as they consider the 300 HP and 295 ft-lb of torque offered by the stock version are not enough.
For 595 GBP the BBR Ford Focus RS Phase 1 package increases output to 342 HP and 369 lb-ft of torque thanks to an ECU remap while for those that want 355 HP and 378 lb-ft of torque there is the Phase 2 pack which costs 1,245 GBP and adds a high-flow intercooler.
2011 Ford F-150 Harley Davidson
The Blue Oval has released photos and details with the 2011 Ford F-150 Harley Davidson which received numerous technology upgrades plus a 6.2-litre V8 powerplant as standard.
Thanks to this engine the 2011 Ford F-150 Harley Davidson is now capable of producing 411 HP and 434 lb-ft of torque with a 6-speed manual gearbox offered as standard and as far as towing capacity this special edition pick-up truck can pull up to 9,300 pounds.
Lotus Exos Type 125
The British company showcased their new Lotus Exos Type 125 at the Monterey Motorsports Pre-Reunion during the weekend.
The Lotus Exos Type 125 is an F1 inspired track car which is powered by a Cosworth V8 engine and which features a carbon fiber body with front and rear wings that resemble the ones on 2009 spec F1 cars. This ultimate track car also comes with shark fin engine covers, carbon ceramic brakes, a carbon pushrod suspension, a semi-automatic gearbox with paddle shifters, and a steering wheel mounted function screen.
2011 Nissan Qashqai
Details with the facelift version 2011 Nissan Qashqai have just been released, and even though the exterior is basically the same, the Japanese automaker has slightly increased power coming from the 1.6-litre engine and added a Stop/Start system.
The 2011 Nissan Qashqai is now able to pack 115 bhp instead if 113 bhp while the 1.5-litre dCi diesel engine is now able to output 108 bhp instead of 105 bhp.
2011 Ford Mustang Boss 302 details
The following video is from the 2010 Continental Challenge New Jersey race, during which the announcer has revealed details with the 2011 Ford Mustang Boss 302 that is expected to be launched on August 13th.
It doesn’t look like he is speculating as he mentions the 2011 Ford Mustang Boss 302 will pack around 430 horsepower with a price tag of around 30,000 USD, but there are 4 days left until we find out is this news was accurate or not.
Infiniti JX teased
The news that talked about Infiniti registering the XJ names (JX20, JX25, JX25h and JX30) has circulated around the Internet last week, and now the Japanese automaker has published this teaser image on its US website.
Even though no details are offered we can make a safe bet and assume that this is the Infiniti JX which looks like it is set to compete with the BMW X6 considering the size and shape that are visible in the teaser image. Of course this might very well be a new G Coupe or M Coupe so we’ll have to wait for some official data to get released.
Video: 2011 Mercedes SLK Spied
A new video with the third generation Mercedes SLK has appeared online as the 2011 version has been spied during road testing in the USA.
Even thought the 2011 Mercedes SLK is still wrapped in camouflage around the ‘esential’ areas, you can easily notice the reshaped front grille that get more in line with the company’s new design language, the new headlights as well as the daylight running lights incorporated in the front bumper.
The 2011 Mercedes SLK is expected to come with improved handling and an interior that has been further refined, and the car is expected to get positioned closer to its main rival coming out of Bavaria, which is the BMW Z4.
