Lexus has prepared a big surprise for its fans: the new generation NX. The compact SUV sold by the Japanese car manufacturer is here, for the first time, with a plug-in hybrid version.

On the design side, the new Lexus NX comes with slightly minor modifications compared to the old one. There are new headlights, new taillights and, instead of the L emblem on the back, now there are LEXUS letters across the back.

Inside, the Japanese car manufacturer has prepared a 9.8 inch screen (14 inch optional) and a 7 inch display for the infotainment system (10 inch optional).

The base version of the Lexus NX is named the NX 250 and has a 2.5 liter petrol unit with 203 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque. The NX 350 comes with a 2.4 liter turbocharged engine which is good for 275 HP and 430 Nm.

There is also a hybrid version called the NX 350h, which uses a 2.5 liter engine and an electric motor on each axle. It has 239 HP and has an estimated fuel economy of 36 miles per gallon.

The top of the line is named NX 450h+ and it is a plug-in hybrid. But for now, we know that the model uses a 2.5 liter petrol unit and an electric motor. The 0 to 100 km/h is done in 6 seconds, while the electric range is about 58 kilometers (36 miles).
