BMW has decided to make another big announcement: the new generation 2 Series will be officially unveiled on July 8th during the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

As you already know, the new generation 2 Series will remain a rear-wheel drive model, not like the current 1 Series or 2 Series Gran Coupe.

In terms of design, we expect to see the same details that are currently on the 1 Series model, but, of course, with a different rear end and only three doors. There will also be an M Performance version which will use the inline-six unit which will deliver 380 horsepower.

We don’t know for sure, but the future 2 Series Coupe might get a proper M variant. Just like the current generation, the official plans haven’t yet been confirmed.
