McLaren told us today the first details about its upcoming entry-level model. Codenamed P13, it will go on sale in 2015 and will have a starting price of about 197,000 USD (about 120,000 GBP or 143,300 EUR). Under the hood of the upcoming McLaren P13 will be the detuned version of the 3.8 liter V8 twin-turbo engine which can deliver 444 horsepower.

"The McLaren P13 is a true high-performance sports car with the same DNA as the 12C and P1", said McLaren Automotive European sales chief David Brimson.

According to rumors, the upcoming McLaren P13 will be unveiled in September 2014 at the Paris Motor Show. Production of the car will start around the same period when McLaren will finish building all 375 P1 units. Sometime around 2016 there will be a Spider version featuring a hard top.
