After they introduced their first MPV and SUV models, Luxgen, Taiwan’s only car manufacturing company that has its own design and development centre, decided it is time or a sedan.
That is why they unveiled the Luxgen5, an executive sedan of medium-large proportions that features the latest hTC technology and which will target the global market.
The Luxgen5 Sedan will be showcased at the 2012 Taipei Auto Show and in terms of design that car features decorative wings for the front logo, twelve "Re-curved Strokes" along the body of the car for the dramatic visual effect and A and C pillars that were moved as far forward and back as possible in order to give the new sedan a coupe-like form with a low drag coefficient (0.28) and also to maximise the interior space.
Engine options for the Luxgen5 Sedan include a 1.8-litre VVT turbo delivering 150 HP to the wheels via a five-speed automatic gearbox, plus a 2.0-litre VVT turbo rated at 170 HP and matched with a six-speed automatic transmission.
The more powerful version will enable a nought to 100 km/h acceleration time of 8.48 seconds and a top speed of 210 Km/h and in this case the car also comes with Slip Control in order to protect the transmission and keep consumption levels at low levels.
Other highlights regarding Luxen’s new sedan include its Think+ Touch system developed with hTC the world’s largest smartphone maker and its Intelligent Aerospace Cockpit with features a high-tech LCD/LED dashboard and a Jet Fighter style HUD.
The Think+ Touch system will control all mobile calls via the 9 inch touch screen when an hTC mobile phone is connected to it and also includes multimedia, safety and information functions.
