There are many ways to measure the fastest cars top speed like 0 to 60 mph time quarter-mile.  In January, a twin-turbo Lamborghini Gallardo modified by Underground Racing set a world record for the fastest speed by a street car in a half mile run from a standing start. Thankfully for us this was captured on video.

Built for a client by Underground Racing in Charlotte, North Carolina, the 2011 Gallardo Superleggera was fitted with custom twin turbo system and plenty of other tunings and modifications.  During the WannaGoFast Florida airport runway half mile race, Underground Racing owner KC Howeth drove this custom Lamborghini monster to a top speed of 233.88 mph (376.39 km/h) at the half-mile mark obliterating the previous record of 224 mph (360 km/h), also by an Underground Racing Lamborghini.
