Unsatisfied by the current
evolution of its
 Chevrolet Malibu sedan, GM is
looking to freshen up some design lines. That’s why we will probably see a
mid-life facelift earlier than we expected.

The refresh will come late next year. The reason
for this decision? soft early sales of the car and unflattering media reviews.
Some dealers also have questioned whether the Malibu can really compete in the
mid-sized sedan market.

"We are going to do a midcycle enhancement,
not dramatic, by this time next year.the changes would include a new front
fascia", Dan Akerson, GM CEO, told Automotive News.

Through October, Malibu sales rose 4 percent to
189,094.
The car had its US launch in the begining of 2012,
following a Euopean de ut this summer. The car is animated by a 2.5 liter
petrol or a 2.0 liter diesel in Europe, where the public apreciates more the
economical version.
