Cadillac will update its range of accessories for the 2015 range of models with an offer that gadget lovers will surely take into consideration: wireless charging for mobile devices.

The technology was first offered on the ATS sedan and now will be added to the CTS premium sedan and the Escalade SUV.

Called Powermat, the new gizmo allows the phone to simply sit on a rubberized pad. The battery is charged by means of an electromagnetic field. Many mobile phone devices have wireless charging either embedded or as an option.

The Powermat will be located inside the storage compartment behind the motorized center instrument panel faceplate of the ATS. This location will allow drivers to be focused on the wheel.

The phone can also be paired through Bluetooth connectivity for answering calls and playing music. All while charging wirelessly.
