BMW has introduced a new diesel engine for the BMW 2-Series Coupe. The old 2.0 liter diesel engine was replaced with a new unit with the same displacement. Thanks to the TwinPower Turbo technology, the power plant is able to deliver 190 HP and 400 Nm of torque. 

According to BMW, the 220d Coupe can be fitted with a revised 8-speed automatic transmission or with a 6-speed manual gearbox. 

When the car is equipped with the automatic transmission the car is able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in only 7 seconds while the average fuel consumption is rated between 4.1 and 3.8 liters per 100 km (between 57 mpg and 62 mpg).

When fitted with the six-speed manual transmission, the upcoming BMW 220d Coupe can sprint from not to 100 km/h in 7.1 seconds with fuel consumption between 4.4 and 4.1 liters per 100 km (between 53 mpg and 57 mpg).
