During the 2016 Worthersee Festival, Volkswagen has officially unveiled the all-new special edition Golf GTI Clubsport S. The model was unveiled in order to celebrate 40 years since the Golf GTI was birth and it will be offered in just 400 units. 100 of them are reserved for the Germany market. 

On the exterior, the new 2016 Volkswagen Golf GTI Clubsport S has an aerodynamic package, new 19 inch alloy wheels wrapped in Michelin Sport Cup 2 tires, LED DRLs and tinted windows. More than that, the officials have told us that the model will be offered in three special body colors: Deep Black Pearl Effect, Pure White and Tornado Red.

Inside the cabin, the 2016 Volkswagen Golf GTI Clubsport S comes with ultra-light sport seats, a steering wheel wrapped in Alcantara and with less equipment in order to keep to weight as low as possible. 

Under the hood of the 2016 Volkswagen Golf GTI Clubsport S is the same 2.0 liter petrol unit seen in the Golf R model but this time it offers 310 horsepower and 380 Nm peak of torque. Matted to a six speed manual gearbox, the model can run from stand still to 100 km/h in just 5,8 seconds. 

Another important fact is that the 2016 Volkswagen Golf GTI Clubsport S managed to break down the FWD Nurburgring time record. The German model din a lap in 7:49,21 minutes.
