Mercedes decided to make the SLS AMG more competitive in the supercar arena. That is why they have introduced the new SLS AMG GT version which is actually the replacement for the old SLS AMG and will be the exclusively sold as a Coupe and Roadster from October 2012 onwards.

The 2013 Mercedes SLS AMG GT promises to offer "enhanced driving dynamics and even better race track performance", but if we were to replace that statement with real figures, then we would tell you that its 6.2-litre V8 delivers 591 HP (435 kW) and 650 Nm of torque, which means around 20 more horses than the current SLS.

The shifting is handled by the same seven-speed AMG Speedshift dual-clutch transmission, and due to the extra power the SLS AMG GT is a little bit quicker as it can accelerate from 0 to 100 Km/h in 3.7 seconds (0 to 200 Km/h in 11.2 seconds) while its top speed os 320 Km/h.

Apart from the power boost the new SLS AMG GT features a retuned adaptive performance suspension and stiffer springs and dampers, while on the inside the automaker has added a number of enhancements such as new colour combinations, new leather surfaces with diamond pattern contrasting stitching, and various other unique touches which are all part of the new optional Designo style package.

And speaking of optional features, the 2013 SLS AMG GT can also be ordered with numerous carbon fiber components for both the interior and exterior, with carbon ceramic brakes and also with a Bang & Olufsen sound system.

In Germany the SLS AMG GT will start from 204,680 Euros while the Roadster version will carry a 213,010 Euros price tag. Customers who also want the AMG designo Exclusive STYLE leather package will have to pay an extra 5,771 Euros.
