Renault Sport has presented the latest Twingo RS and Gordini RS variants for the facelift version Renault Twingo.
These sportier models will become available this spring (February 20th, 2012 in France) with prices starting at 16,900 Euro for the Twingo RS and at 18,100 Euro for the Gordini RS.
Some of the features that make the Twingo RS appear more dynamic include a new front bumper incorporating the F1 style blade, the hallmark Sirius Yellow body finish, a tailgate mounted lip spoiler, a rear bumper that incorporates a diffuser and aerodynamic extensions on the rear wheel arches.
The Twingo RS also comes with 16 inch Emotion alloy wheels, chrome details for the fog light surrounds and Grey/Dark Gunmetal Grey door mirror housings, and everything which we just mentioned also available in what the company calls the Design Pack.
On the inside the Twingo RS features yellow stitching across the dashboard, steering wheel and seats, while under the bonnet the French hatch features a normally-aspirated 1.6-litre 16-valve engine developing 133 HP (98 kW) at 6,750 rpm and 160 Nm of torque at 4,400 rpm.
Renault says this engine is now 3.0 percent more efficient in terms of consumption and 3.2 percent cleaner than the one fitted on the previous version, meaning that it now requires 6.5-litres of fuel per 100 Km while emitting 150 grams pf CO2 per Km.
The 2012 Renault Twingo RS is also equipped with big brakes (280 mm at the front and 240 mm at the rear), the Sport chassis as standard, (Cup chassis optional) and the optional RS Monitor which is a "fun on-board telemetry system."
As for the 2012 Renault Twingo Gordini RS, the list of premium features that are offered on this version include 17 inch diamond effect black wheels, leather trim and automatic climate control. In addition to the blue interior option the car can be ordered with a new grey interior as well as body colours like Malte Blue, Glacier White, Pearlescent Black or Vif Red.
