Honda will bring the 2012 CR-V Concept at this year’s Frankfurt Motor
Show, but those who are already curious to see how the Japanese
automaker’s upcoming SUV will look like, will have to thank the crew
from Car and Driver who has leaked an official photo with the car today.
The
2012 Honda CR-V Concept will be closely related to the production
version on which some of the details that will be missing will probably
include the darkened headlights and the glossy black side sills.
Overall
the upcoming compact crossover look restrained, and without any new
features that could point to new direction in terms of design. The same
story will probably go in terms of mechanical changes, but we’ll have to
wait for the official details before we may further comment on this.
The
production version 2012 Honda CR-V is expected to hit the market
towards the end of 2011, and customers will most likely have the option
of choosing between front-wheel-drive and rear-wheel-drive powertrains.
In North America Honda will also most likely offer a 6-speed automatic
transmission as standard.
