In the latest episode of Jay Leno’s Garage, Jay and John Hennesey, the president and founder of Hennesey Performance talk about the 2011 HPE600 Supercharged Camaro Convertible, and the modifications that were required in order to transform this open top cruiser into a 602 HP machine.
The only changes at the exterior that might get you thinking this is not the stock version, include a new set of 20 inch, double spoke design alloys wrapped win Pirelli tires, carbon fiber side skirts, a carbon front splitter plus two blue stripes on the bonnet.
Under the metal skin things get a little bit more complex, as the 2011 HPE600 Supercharged Camaro Convertible features a series of upgrade that include a TVS2300 supercharger system, a custom, cold air induction system, stainless steel tube headers and optimised fuel injectors.
As we mentioned the result are 602 horses at 6,300 rpm and 605 lb-ft of torque a 3,800 rpm. How does it feel harnessing that amount of power, well it is better to watch Jay’s review and see for yourself.
