Consumer Reports has taken the pre-production version 2011 Chevrolet Volt for a test drive, shooting a review video a telling us what they think about this 4-door plug-in hybrid that also features a plug-in battery pack.
The 2011 Chevrolet Volt has a 149 HP (111 kW) electric motor under its skin that can cover around 40 miles if runing by itself, which is backed by a 4-cylinder engine that can use gasoline or E85 fuel to extend the car’s driving range to no less than 300 miles.
The 2011 Chevrolet Volt will have a starting price tag of around 40,000 USD without the government incentives, and Consumer Reports seem to like the car’s ride quality and handling, but ofcourse the real test begins after market availability will begin.
