The Volvo C30 DRIVe developed by Polestar Racing as part of a one-car programme for the FIA World Touring Car Championship will have its on-track debut at the Curitiba in Brazil this weekend, when the 2011 season WTCC kiks off.
The Volvo C30 DRIVe WTCC has already proved its abilities by winning various titles and races in the Swedish and Scandinavian Touring Car Championships, but the car still need various adaptations due to the new engine regulations as well as the new WTCC tracks.
Christian Dahl, Managing Director of Polestar Racing said "We are starting the season with our current two litre engine, before
later in the year switching to an all-new 1.6 turbo engine, based on a
completely new Volvo engine family. We are currently working flat out
with the new engine and we are confident of our progress,"
Behind the wheel of the 2011 spec Volvo C30 DRIVe will be Robert Dahlgren, and at this year’s first race in Brazil, Polestar will also showcase its new livery (the same shade of blue as the one featured by the prototype version).
