The Swedish manufacturer announced that today March 31, at 4.15am the last Volvo S60 rolled of the production line. The vehicle was assembled at Volvo’s plant in Ghent and will be on its way to Taiwan to meet its customer. Volvo Ghent started building the S60 in 2000 and by 2008 they came close to a grand total of 600,000 units produced. This last special Volvo S60 model features a 5-cylinder engine and Sapphire Black paint and marks the end of one of the longest running Volvo models. For the future, managing director of Volvo Cars Ghent said that they will focus on the new S60 for which production will start in 2010.
