The Germans from Volkswagen have prepared a nice surprise for this year’s International Motor Show in Frankfurt…is is called the VW NILS and it is an electric concept which resembles with the Urban Sportback and Spyder prototypes revealed by Audi not too long ago.
Unlike Audi’s concepts, the VW NILS is a single seater vehicle measuring 3.04 m in length, 1,39 m in width and 1,20 m in height, whose main purpose is, yet again, to offer mobility in urban areas.
The VW NILS wights just 460 Kg and it extracts power from an electric motor developing 20 HP (15 kW) and 130 Nm of torque positioned behind the passenger. Thanks to this motor which is linked to a 5.3 kWh lithium-ion battery, the car can go from 0 to 100 Km/h in around 1 seconds, while its claimed top speed is 130 Km/h.
Just the Audi Urban Sportback and Spyer the NILS features free standing wheels, and an aluminium made body structure. The wheels measure 17 inch in size and are wrapped in low rolling resistance tires size 115/80 at the front and 125/80 at the rear.
The VW NILS has a driving range of 65 Km between recharges.
