Volkswagen Passat first official sketches and informations have been revealed. The future sedan will ride on the MQB platform but will try to look more aggresive, as the first images confirm.
The car will have a new front fascia, with longer grille, sharpened headlights and simple bumper. The profile will have a lower roofline, while the back will receive new tailpipes and chrome trim. Inside the cabin, 2015 Passat will endulge its clients with a large 12.3 TFT display, that is going to replace the insturment panel as in the new Audi TT.
The infotainment system will feature support for the newest smartphones and tablets.
The engines available will range between 120 and 280 hp.
The novelty will be an all new 2.0 litre bi-turbo Tdi engine, capable of delivering 240 hp and 500 Nm, managed through a seven speed DSG and a 4Motion all wheel drive system. The average consumption will be of just 5 litre.100 km.
The engine range will also see the addition of a plug-in hybrid version, due to bw introduced in 2015. It will feature the 1.4 liter Tsi engine, joined by a 102 hp electric motor. This will enable the four door model to travel up to 50 km with zero emissions.
