The German police are thinking green with the new Volkswagen e-Golf police car. The car is set to be showcased during this year General Police Equipment Exhibition & Conference in Leipzig and was prepared accordingly.

This means a blue and silver body colors, new police lights, and communications with a special radio frequency.  The car won’t be able to run after those who are speeding, as the car only has 115 hp and 270 Nm offered by the electric motor.

The engine offers zero emissions and uses a 240-volt household socket (4 hours) or a DC "fast" charger (2 hours) to fill the lithium-ion batteries with energy. The stored electric power will be enough to offer a 190 kilometer (118 mile) range on a single charge.

Even if it is not going to be the fastest car in the park, the e-Golf will be ready to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (60 mph) in 10.4 seconds, which is a decent performance from a popular family model.
