Volkswagen is adding a bit of style to its versatile Transporter range by introducing the new Sportline trim level which applies to the panel van and the kombi models, on both the short and long wheelbase variants.
The 2011 Volkswagen Transporter Sportline extract power from a 2.0-litre BiTDI diesel engine which delivers 180 PS to the wheels via a standard 6-speed manual, or an optional 7-speed DSG transmission for an extra 1,400 GBP.
These new models come with a glossy black front grille highlighted with chrome, revised headlights, a redesigned, body coloured bumper with incorporated fog lamps, smoked rear light units and a rear roof spoiler.
The 2011 Volkswagen Transporter Sportline has also been equipped with a set of 18 inch 5-spoke design alloys (finished in silver or sating black). As far as paint finishes, the automaker offers a choice between Reflex Silver metallic and Deep Black pearlescent or the optional Candy White with a contrasting gloss black roof.
The interior of the new range topping Transporter Sportline has been enhanced with two-tone leather upholstery while in terms of equipment the van comes with ABS, ESP (Electronic
Stabilisation Programme) and EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution) plus semi-automatic air conditioning,
a multimedia system including a 7-inch colour touch screen with full
European satellite navigation, rear parking sensors, Bluetooth
connectivity and electric windows as standard.
The 2011 Volkswagen Transporter Sportline price starts at 28,200 GBP for the panel van and at 30,100 GBP for the kombi.
