To increase the appeal of the current Vitz on the JDM market, Toyota applied some important modifications. The small car received a new front fascia, inspired by the design we already saw on the Aygo, during this year Geneva Motor Show.
According to Toyota`s official press release, the new front lines “offer greater emotional appeal by sporting Toyota’s signature front-end design, which delivers a more contemporary "family look" evident in cars like the Corolla hatch and sedan.”
Toyota officials say that the facelift will only apply to the five door variant, the three door one being discontinued. We dont know yet if this move is going to follow in Europe and US. This decision comes after customers stopped buying the three door variant.
The sales declined from around one-quarter of total demand in 2008 to single digits last year. On the other hand, the five-door variant grew from two-thirds of total demand and now represent almost nine out of every 10 sales.

The new Vitz facelift adopts a full-width upper grille that extends into new triangular headlamps, completed by a deeper front bumper with a large trapezoidal lower intake. There will also be new freshly designed alloy wheels and new tail lamps with LED signature.
Inside the car, Toyota offers a new generation Toyota Link multimedia system and some new materials.

Even if the engine range won`t be modified, the suspension will be adjusted to provide better handling and comfort while the noise levels have be reduced.
