After we saw the first
pictures of the 2015 Avensis facelift, Toyota unveils a subtle facelift
also for current Auris. The changes will be applied to both body
versions, hatchback and estate, and will be officially introduced to
public during this year Geneva Motor Show, scheduled to open its gates
next month.
Exterior
Looking from the outside, we see a new grille, sharper
headlights and a reworked bumper. At the rear we can expect different
graphics for the taillights and a refreshed bumper.
Interior
On the inside, we
have glossy black accents on the dashboard, different air vents while
the clock has been repositioned to the right of the larger touchscreen
display. The facelift will also include new upholstery options and fresh
materials.
Engine
Under the hood, the hybrid remains at the heart of the
range, having established itself as the leading powertrain in the
line-up, accounting for around half of all Auris sales in Europe in
2014. Nonetheless, the new model heralds the arrival of new and improved
petrol and diesel engines, probably the new 1.3 liter turbo unit, also
expected on Avensis.
Production
Auris and Avensis will continue to be built side by side at Toyota Manufacturing UK’s car plant at Burnaston, near Derby.
