The Japanese firm has announced pricing for the modestly revised 2012 Toyota Tacoma pickup. The car is available in three cab styles : Regular Cab, Access Cab and 4-door Double Cab with 4×2 and 4×4 configuration, and will begin arriving at dealerships across the US in September 2011.
Engine options includes a 2.7-litre 4-cylinder DOHC unit rated at 159 HP and 180 lb-ft of torque and a 4.0-litre DOHC V6 which will provide 236 HP and 266 lb-ft of torque. Both these engine feature Variable Valve timing (VVT-i) and an Electronic Throttle Control System that helps optimize performance and fuel consumption.
The 4-cylinder version can be equipped with either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic while customers opting in for the V6 model will be able to choose between a 6-speed manual or a 5-speed automatic.
Standard equipment on all 2012 Toyota Tacoma models includes the Star Safety System, and this includes ABS, EBD, Brake Assist (BA), Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Traction Control (TRAC) and Smart Stop technology.
The 2012 Toyota Tacoma price starts at 16,875 USD for the 2.7-litre Regular Cab 4×2 manual version and at 27,835 USD for the 4.0-litre Double Cab 4×4 long bed automatic. These prices do not include the 810 USD fee for delivery, processing
and handling.
